My symthoms
I tend to walk If I am talking to phone. I widget like a maniac I daydream, my mind wandering is another level. I have countless projects in my mind I frequently forget important details about others, such as birthdays or names. I don’t lost things like keys. I am good organizer. I can organize and plan project but I can’t do them. I am barely distracted from physical distraction like noise. I am always distracting by my brain. My brains works way better when I am walking, or I love the running high brain.
My ADHD is more like mental hyperactivity — I’m always thinking, planning, connecting, and talking fast — but struggle to slow down and actually do the things I plan.

People with internal hyperactivity often look calm, but feel like their brain is spinning a thousand tabs open.
| Domain | Internal Hyperactivity Signs |
|---|---|
| Thinking | Constant ideation, racing thoughts, “brain storms” non-stop |
| Speech | Fast talking, tangents, jumping between ideas |
| Focus | Easy hyperfocus on interesting things; impossible focus on dull ones |
| Motivation | High at the start, drops fast when dopamine fades |
| Productivity | Great planning → poor follow-through |
| Relaxation | Hard to “do nothing” — mind seeks stimulation |
| Sleep | Trouble winding down mentally, even if tired |
Why Many Adults with This Type Go Undiagnosed
Because:
- They look organized, polite, functional, not disruptive.
- They compensate through structure, tools, or overplanning.
- Their hyperactivity is invisible — happening in thought, not motion. That’s why you might have always felt:
“I’m not hyperactive — but my brain never stops.”
That is hyperactivity — it’s just cognitive, not behavioral.
For people like you (hyperactive-brain ADHD), what works best is:
- Body movement as a focus aid → walking meetings, treadmill desk, standing while thinking.
- Externalizing thoughts → mind maps, voice notes, whiteboards — get ideas out of your head.
- Task chunking → break execution into micro-steps to overcome “plan vs. do” gap.
- Low-stimulation focus rituals → ambient sounds, breathing routines, or “body anchors” to keep DMN quiet.
- Dopamine management → switch between “novelty” and “completion” tasks consciously (e.g., reward finishing with exploring a new idea).
⚖️ ADHD Profile Comparison Table
| Dimension | Inattentive (Classic ADD) | Hyperactive / Impulsive (Body-Driven) | Hyperactive-Brain (Cognitive Type) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core Experience | Feels mentally foggy or “zoned out.” | Feels physically driven to move, talk, or act. | Feels mentally overactive — brain races constantly. |
| Attention Pattern | Attention drifts away easily, mind goes blank. | Attention bounces due to external movement or sensory input. | Attention splits between many internal thoughts; hard to slow down. |
| Physical Energy | Often low or sluggish. | High physical restlessness; needs motion. | Variable — calm body, but “noisy” mind. |
| Speech Style | Calm, sometimes slow to respond. | Talks rapidly, interrupts frequently. | Rapid speech when excited, full of associations. |
| Thinking Style | Wandering, forgetful, daydreamy. | Impulsive, jumps into action without thinking. | Non-stop ideation, rapid connections, hard to turn off. |
| Productivity Pattern | Starts tasks slowly, struggles to sustain. | Jumps in fast, abandons when bored. | Plans creatively, struggles to execute consistently. |
| Motivation Trigger | External structure (deadlines, accountability). | Novelty and challenge. | Novelty and intellectual stimulation; boredom is painful. |
| Common Strengths | Empathy, deep focus when calm. | Energy, enthusiasm, adaptability. | Creativity, systems thinking, rapid problem-solving. |
| Common Struggles | Forgetfulness, disorganization. | Impulsivity, impatience, blurting out. | Mental overload, difficulty finishing, sleep issues. |
| Outward Appearance | Quiet, absent-minded. | Lively, restless. | Calm exterior, busy interior — “brain never stops.” |
| Brain Mechanism | Underactive focus networks. | Overactive motor circuits. | Overactive default mode network (mental chatter). |
🧭 Where You Fit
Based on your answers:
- ✅ Internal hyperactivity (racing mind, idea storm, fast talking)
- ✅ Organized yet execution-challenged
- ✅ Mentally distracted more than physically distracted
- ✅ Regulate attention with movement
→ You fit strongly in the “Hyperactive-Brain (Cognitive Type)” column, overlapping with Combined Type in clinical terms.
03 I took that test and here is the result: Your score 145/207 Based on the DSM-5, each question is scored individually (1-4 points).
Your score places you above 70% of the total points on this test. This suggests some alignment with ADHD-related traits.
