sensory integration exercises…
1/ Sensory integration exercises aren’t just mental — they’re full-body nervous system work.
Movement and balance have a much deeper connection to focus and attention than most people think.
2/ In the past, kids used to run, jump, and climb — those movements helped them stay present and focused.
Now, kids sit all day… and that’s one reason why ADHD cases are rising.
3/ Here are some simple exercises you can try 👇
- Push a wall for 10 seconds, rest, and repeat 3 sets.
- Stand on one leg. Later, try it on a pillow, then on a balance board.
- Practice “dual-task” exercises to improve executive function.
4/ Example dual-task ideas:
- Walk in a straight line while counting from 1 to 30.
Every time you hit a multiple of 3, say a name in alphabetical order (1 2 Asli, 4 5 Burak, 7 8 Can…). - Throw a ball at the wall and catch it — each time, count down from 100 but solve a small math problem before saying the next number.
5/ Try cross-crawl movements — like touching your left shoulder with your right hand.
You can even combine it with a mental task, like doing simple arithmetic while moving.
6/ Other ideas:
- Write with your non-dominant hand.
- Spin around slowly, then stop and focus on an object — notice its shape, texture, and color.
This helps train your mind to re-center after movement.
7/ Mindfulness helps us manage stress and anxiety — but combining it with movement makes it even more powerful.
Your nervous system learns best when your mind and body work together. 🧠💪
